THE PROJECT
The project aims to develop a series of theatrical activities with educational impact in 3 European countries – Romania, Greece and Portugal – where the educational issues consist of:
- little to no educational inclusion;
- little to no policies to reduce bullying in schools;
- lack of policies dedicated to children with special educational needs;
- lack of debates about the role of art in education.
All these issues are addressed on a large scale during the project through artistic and creative means, interdisciplinary and interactive methods, through theatrical productions with performances in all 3 countries. Furthermore, the issues will also be addressed through debates and presentations of good artistic and educational practices, which will take place during the Educational Art Week in February 2024.
OBJECTIVES
- Encouraging transnational creation and circulation of European works and artists;
- Creating theater performances in Greece and Portugal based on the Romanian play LIMITE, which addresses acute educational issues;
- Creating a new theatrical production with artists from all three countries (Romania, Greece and Portugal), based on artistic research carried out in each of the three countries with their educational systems.
ACTIVITIES
Translation of the Romanian play Limite into Greek and Portuguese.
Stage production based on the Romanian play Limite translated into Greek by Modernoi Kairoi, Athens, Greece.
Greek tour with the Romanian stage production of Limite in Athens and Kalamata.
Artistic research in Athens and Kalamata about the educational system in Greece.
Stage co-production based on the Romanian play Limite translated into Portuguese by Teatro dos Aloes in partnership with Replika.
Portuguese tour with the Romanian stage production of Limite in Amadora, Portugal.
Artistic research in Amadora and Lisbon about the educational system in Portugal.
Continuation of the artistic research on the educational system in Romania.
Co-production (RO-PT-GR) of a theater show about the educational system in the three countries – coming soon, end of November 2023
Educational Art Week at Replika Center in Bucharest, Romania, presenting the performances created in the project and organizing debates about the educational systems in the three countries – February 2024
